How to Use LMIABridge

Everything you need to know to find LMIA jobs, connect with employers, and navigate the Canadian work permit process.

👷

For Foreign Workers

1

Browse LMIA Jobs

Visit the Job Board to see LMIA-eligible positions across Canada. Each job is scored with a Tier rating:

  • Tier 1: High probability of LMIA approval
  • Tier 2: Moderate probability — good candidates succeed
  • Tier 3: Elevated risk — may require extra documentation
2

Check Job Types

Understand the three types of listings you'll see:

✓ LMIA SPONSORED

Employer is registered on LMIABridge and actively seeking foreign workers

🔄 LMIA IN PROGRESS

Workers have expressed interest — LMIABridge is contacting the employer

⚡ LMIA ELIGIBLE

Job meets LMIA criteria but employer hasn't been contacted yet

3

Create Your Profile

Click "Express Interest" on any job to create your worker profile. You'll need:

  • Your NOC code (job classification)
  • Years of work experience
  • English/French language proficiency
  • Education level
  • Preferred provinces

Your profile is anonymised — employers see your qualifications, not your name or contact info initially.

4

Get Matched & Connect

After expressing interest:

  • For LMIA Sponsored jobs: Your profile goes directly to the employer
  • For LMIA Eligible jobs: LMIABridge contacts the employer on your behalf with all interested workers
  • Track your matches in the Matches Dashboard
5

LMIA Application Process

Once an employer selects you:

  1. Employer applies for LMIA with ESDC (Employment and Social Development Canada)
  2. LMIA processing typically takes 2-3 months
  3. You receive the LMIA approval letter
  4. Apply for your Canadian work permit using the LMIA
  5. Arrive in Canada and start your new job

⚠ Never pay an employer for a job offer. Legitimate LMIA processes do not require payment from workers.

For Canadian Employers

1

Register Your Company

Create an employer account and verify your business:

  • Enter your Canada Business Registry number for instant verification
  • Add company details, job title, and offered wage
  • Specify NOC code and province
  • Set advertising start date (required 28-day period before LMIA)
2

Get Your LMIA Score

LMIABridge automatically calculates your LMIA probability based on:

  • Wage compliance (high-wage vs low-wage stream)
  • NOC code demand (healthcare, tech, trades get priority)
  • CMA unemployment rates for your province
  • Your company's ESDC history (if available)

Tier 1 and 2 scores indicate strong LMIA approval likelihood.

3

Review Matched Workers

Access your Employer Dashboard to:

Auto-Match Algorithm

System suggests workers based on NOC match, experience, and language fit

Express Interest Queue

See workers who clicked "Express Interest" on your job listing

4

Generate LMIA Package

For each selected worker, LMIABridge generates a complete compliance package:

  • Justification letter for hiring a TFW
  • Recruitment efforts documentation
  • Wage analysis vs. ESDC median
  • CMA exemption verification (if applicable)
  • Transition plan for high-wage positions
5

Submit to ESDC & Track

Use your dashboard to:

  • Track LMIA application status (draft → submitted → approved)
  • Upload supporting documents
  • Manage multiple worker applications
  • Access compliance checklists

Typical processing time: 2-3 months for high-wage, 3-4 months for low-wage positions.
