Which Tests Are Accepted?

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) accepts four language tests:

CLB Score Requirements

Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) are the standardized scoring system. Different programs require different levels:

  • NOC 0, A, B jobs: CLB 5-7 typically required

PTE Core

The newest option—fully AI-scored with fastest results. Growing acceptance among Canadian institutions.

  • Speaking & Writing: 50 minutes (integrated tasks)
  • Reading: 30 minutes (fill-in-blanks, reorder paragraphs)
  • Listening: 30 minutes (summarize, multiple choice)
